Help! I Hate My Season

Due to the HUGE interest in this subject I’m considering adding a new service. The service would provide an updated colour palette bespoke to you which takes into account all your colour likes and dislikes. If you have had your colour analysed and have felt disappointed then this service would remedy that. If I get enough interest I will start to contact the waiting list to offer this service. This service will only be available to a few people a week. Join the waiting list is this service would help you.

I've had so many people start following along here who are sharing disappointment with their analysis results. Fortunately, none of them are my clients, but I'm still keen to help.

If you see posts online about your season and just feel like it's just not you, then you're not alone. Are you an Autumn but you hate earthy tones? A Summer who hates pastels? A Winter who craves neutrals? A Spring who doesn't like bright colours?

If this sounds like you, then these are some questions it might be worth asking.

1. Have you had your colours professionally analysed or have you done a DIY job?

It's very easy to incorrectly analyse yourself, and this could be the source of the mismatch. Unfortunately, there aren't any shortcuts when it comes to an accurate and perfect palette. I pride myself on a thorough process which includes full draping, lifestyle assessment, and a detailed personality analysis. This allows me to ascertain the most ideal palette for you. I like to learn what your dislikes are too.

It's easy to assume that Seasonal palettes are one size fits all, but I've never met two Winters who are the same. Why settle for anything less than a completely individualised palette?

2. Have you fully embraced your palette?

When you learn your season, it can be a surprise for many. Spending years thinking you are a warm and rich Autumn and finding out you are actually a soft and muted Summer can be a shock! It can take a while to fully embrace the colours that work for you. That in-between time when you have colours from multiple seasons can feel a bit flat. The colours don't sing together, and you aren't getting the impact you wanted. Rome wasn't built in a day, so give your wardrobe time to build up those new seasonal palette pieces. If you normally don't like pastels, just give them a try. Like a proper try! Wear the shades that compliment you best near your face. You might be surprised at how great you feel at the end of the day.

3. You've been analysed, but it only considered your complexion and not personality.

I know I talk about personality a lot for someone who analyses colours. But you need to trust me that it plays a significant role in creating a palette that truly suits you. Let me explain… Imagine you are analysed as a Spring. You are given a bright poppy palette of bold pinks, reds, and greens. You are advised to wear more bright yellow and avoid black. Personality-wise, you are an introverted, focused planner. You love being organised and orderly, and you love classic, underrated styles in paired-back colours. Imagine your horror at receiving a Spring Palette. Now, you will need to still embrace warm, clear shades to really make you glow, but you'll need some great neutrals and darker shades to work for your style. This is why personality is important. It's the key piece of information needed to land on the ideal combination of shades for you.
